About After School Football Club
The focus is to make sessions fun, so children enjoy themselves – if a child is happy, they
will want to come back! The games/drills/matches in these sessions also help children gain
confidence in their own abilities so they can enjoy participating.
Primary 1-3 Sessions (limited to 12 children)
For younger children each session starts with a warm-up, then games/drills and finishing
with a small-sided match.
These sessions introduce routine and structure so children can
develop their individual football skills and also learn to co-operate with others as part of a
team.
Primary 4-7 Sessions (limited to 16 children)
Sessions are now based round small-sided matches in the form of a knock-out/league
competitions and finishing with a penalty shoot-out/free kick competition.
These sessions still
retain routine and structure but allow these older children to continue their development
while still having fun.
About The Coach
My previous role as “Lead Coach” for Aquinas FC’s “Mini Soccer” has helped me develop a
coaching style that is focused on children of primary school age. This role included
developing games/drills that helps give young children with little or no experience an
introduction to football.
